Qarina Syifa Aliya
Project Manager
Qarina is an NbS Data Analyst within Daemeter’s Forest, Nature and Climate unit, where she supports the firm’s carbon and nature-based solutions work with a focus on mangrove and coastal ecosystems. Her day-to-day responsibilities span spatial and non-spatial data analysis, social and safeguards assessment, and carbon project enabling studies that connect blue carbon finance with measurable safeguards outcomes.
She has carried out feasibility studies for sustainable mangrove projects, assessed NbS pathways across multiple coastal sites, and conducted desktop studies analysing concession-level compliance with Indonesia’s voluntary carbon market regulations. Her work draws on GIS and remote sensing skills alongside social analysis, giving her an integrated perspective across both technical and community dimensions. She is a BNSP-certified GIS Technician.
Qarina values work that bridges environmental data with real social context. Before Daemeter, she assisted projects at a consulting firm, coordinating field surveys and managing data. She also supported training programmes for indigenous peoples and local communities at a development foundation, and served as a remote sensing teaching assistant at her university.
She holds a BSc in Agriculture, majoring in Land Resource Management, from IPB University. She speaks Indonesian natively and English at an upper-intermediate level. Qarina is a quiet observer of people and a daily journaller; her downtime usually involves reading, writing stories of her own, and watching the small rituals of social life around her.
