Muhammad Fakhrul
Project Manager
Fakhrul is a GIS and Remote Sensing Specialist within Daemeter’s Geospatial and Informatics team. His day-to-day work positions geospatial analysis as decision-support evidence, turning satellite imagery and spatial datasets into the analysis that underpins land use, carbon, and biodiversity assessments and informs landscape-scale monitoring across Indonesia.
With more than seven years of experience, he has built strong capabilities in satellite imagery processing, spatial-temporal analysis, and GIS automation using tools such as ArcPy, eCognition, and Google Earth Engine. He has carried out carbon stock assessments, land use change analyses, integrated HCV-HCS assessments, and GHG and carbon footprint accounting, working across both field-based and desktop-based workflows including landscape classification and probability modelling. His automation work supports the kind of repeatable, scalable spatial systems that enable consistent monitoring and accountability over time.
Fakhrul is drawn to the technical challenge of turning spatial data into actionable insights for sustainability and climate projects. Before Daemeter, he worked as a GIS specialist at a social and environmental consultancy, coordinated carbon footprint work for an international supply chain sustainability programme, and analysed blue carbon and land-based emissions at an international research organisation.
He holds a BSc in Geophysics and Meteorology from Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB). He is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English. Whenever a long weekend opens up, Fakhrul packs a bag and heads off on a short trip somewhere new.
