M. Sayidina Ali

Senior Project Manager

Ali is a Senior Project Manager within Daemeter’s Biodiversity, Conservation and Restoration team. His day-to-day focus is on leading integrated HCV-HCS assessments, Land Use Change Analysis, and conservation management planning at landscape scale across Indonesia’s forest and plantation sectors, building the kind of evidence base that supports both immediate operational decisions and longer-term monitoring of conservation outcomes.

A certified Lead Assessor with the HCV Network and a registered HCSA Practitioner, he brings close to 20 years of field experience in biodiversity surveys, forest inventory, carbon stock assessment, and GIS analysis. He has led and contributed to HCV-HCS assessments across a wide geographic range including Kalimantan, Sumatera, Papua, and Maluku, working primarily with private sector clients in the oil palm and forestry sectors. He also has experience developing Best Management Practices and Remediation and Compensation Procedure programmes, and supporting ISPO certification.

Ali is passionate about conservation planning and the practical challenge of identifying and protecting high conservation values in production landscapes. Before Daemeter, he spent over a decade conducting HCV and environmental assessments through a university-affiliated research centre, and earlier worked on mangrove rehabilitation and coastal ecosystem monitoring.

He holds a BSc in Forestry from the University of Kuningan and a Diploma in Forest Resource Conservation and Ecotourism from IPB University. He is a native Bahasa Indonesia speaker. Off the clock, Ali heads to the badminton court whenever he gets the chance.
