Improve Carbon Credit Reliability Through Advanced Technology
Daemeter began its collaboration with PASCO this year with a shared mission to move beyond traditional carbon estimation. We collaborate to address the challenges faced by MRV systems and carbon rating bodies in the carbon credit landscape. High-resolution imagery is used to capture tree-level structure, allowing us to obtain more accurate activity data and gain deeper insights into carbon, biodiversity, and ecosystem health.
Together, Daemeter and PASCO built the model from the ground up. Started with identifying key parameters, designing workflow, and validating results through field measurements in Siak and Pelalawan, Riau Province. The carbon stocks estimation is developed with advanced models in Python and Google Colab, powered by state-of-the-art imagery and strengthened by incredible teamwork.
With the project now around 80% complete, our biomass model is showing a promising accuracy. The next focus is to enhance it further by integrating detailed tree-level structural information. Upon completion, we have one simple yet ambitious goal: to create real, meaningful impact.
