Faculty of Forestry UGM and PT Daemeter Consulting Sign MoU for HR Development and Training in the Forestry and Environmental Sector

Yogyakarta, 19 August 2025 – The Faculty of Forestry Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) established a strategic partnership with PT Daemeter Consulting through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding Human Resource Development and Training in Forestry and Environment. The MoU signing took place on Tuesday, 19 August 2025, in the Faculty of Forestry, UGM. It was signed directly by Ir. Sigit Sunarta, S.Hut., M.Agr., PhD, IPU., as Dean of the Faculty of Forestry UGM, along with Aisyah Erawati Sileuw, as the President Director of PT Daemeter Consulting.

The event was also attended by Prof. Ir. Widiyatno, S.Hut., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM, as Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Collaboration; Hermudananto, Head of the Career Development Center (CDC-Forestry UGM); and Sahat Aritonang, Director of Technical Operations at PT Daemeter Consulting. In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry UGM emphasized that this collaboration is a significant step forward. It strengthens the faculty’s role in producing academically competent graduates. It also prepares them to face real-world challenges in the forestry and environmental sectors.

“This collaboration will open up opportunities for students and alumni to gain experience, knowledge, and training that is relevant to industry needs, which further strengthens their competitiveness at both national and global levels,” said Ir. Sigit Sunarta.

Meanwhile, Aisyah Erawati Sileuw emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities and the private sector in realizing sustainable forestry practices. “We believe that synergy with the academic world will drive the emergence of innovation, while also enhancing human resource capacity in the forestry and environmental sectors. This MoU serves as the initial foundation for various training and development programs that we will carry out together,” she stated. Through this MoU, the scope of the collaboration includes the organization of training, workshops, and internships. It also covers curriculum development based on industry needs, as well as collaboration in applied research.

Through this collaboration, the Faculty of Forestry UGM and PT Daemeter Consulting commit to strengthening human resource capacity in Indonesia’s forestry and environmental sectors. This effort supports the achievement of sustainable development.
