Subarno

NBS & Carbon Specialist

Subarno is a Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and Carbon Specialist at Daemeter, supporting assessments, knowledge methodology, research, technical work, and policy analysis. With over nine years of experience in forestry, peatlands, climate change, and sustainability, Subarno specializes in natural resource management in Indonesia, particularly in REDD+ and forest monitoring. Before Daemeter, he worked at BAPPENAS, APRIL, and The Nature Conservancy, contributing to REDD+ studies and forest monitoring projects with governments, NGOs, and academia. Subarno also supports the Ministry of Environment and Forestry as a technical expert in MRV for SRN PPI and climate reporting on REDD+. He holds a BSc in Geography and Environmental Sciences from Universitas Gadjah Mada and trained as a Carbon Accounting Specialist in 2019. Outside of work, Subarno enjoys coffee, cats, camping, and engaging with local communities. He is also a part-time teacher at universities and mentors new graduates entering green jobs.
