Bukhari

Senior Project Manager

Bukhari is the Senior Project Manager for GIS and Remote Sensing at Daemeter, leading the spatial analysis and natural resource management functions within the Geospatial and Informatics team. His work positions geospatial analysis as decision-support evidence, using maps, remote sensing data, and landscape information to inform investment decisions, conservation planning, deforestation accountability, and the kind of carbon and biomass estimation that underpins climate-relevant finance.

With over 20 years of experience, he has managed spatial inputs for more than 50 projects at Daemeter, spanning HCV and HCS assessments, landscape and jurisdictional programmes, carbon stock and biomass analysis, deforestation risk mapping, and LUCA reviews for RSPO members across Asia, Latin America, and Africa. He brings deep technical knowledge in soil survey, peatland inventory, and spatial planning, and regularly delivers GIS and remote sensing training. He is an HCS Registered Practitioner and a certified geomatics professional.

Bukhari enjoys tackling complex spatial challenges that connect people, land, and policy, and is focused on building the GIS team’s role as a strategic decision-support capability across the firm. Before Daemeter, he worked across conservation organisations, government spatial planning programmes, and private-sector consulting, building broad experience in land resource management and remote sensing applications.

He holds an MSc in Soil Science from IPB University and a BSc in Soil Science from Syiah Kuala University, and is currently completing doctoral studies in Natural Resources and Environmental Science at IPB University. He is a native Bahasa Indonesia speaker. Beyond the office, Bukhari is a sociable soul who also likes tinkering with computers and electronic gadgets in his downtime.
